Background

Mirage Studios is the production company of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, founded in 1983. Based in Northampton, MA, they are responsible for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series and the subsequent franchise it has spawned. In 2009, Nickelodeon acquired the franchise, but because further involvement with it is unclear, Mirage was shut down. They continued to posthumously publish comics until 2014.

1st Logo (1995-2009):

Logo: On a green background, we see a white box with what appears to be a stylized head drawing of a ninja turtle (from TMNT) on an orange background. Below are the words "MIRAGE" with "STUDIOS, INC." in a future-type font.

Variants:

- The colors and text of the logo vary, depending on what comic it is. The default scheme was introduced in 2001.

-On Space Unagi, the background is white and "LICENSING" replaces "STUDIOS, INC."

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show. On Space Unagi, a majestic Japanese theme plays instead.

Availability: Appeared on the 4Kids version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It is still in use today, but don't expect to see this on the 2012 series or Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
