Metrodome Distribution

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (1999-2009)

Visuals: On a black background, a cloudy planet is seen below, with a white haze along the horizon and a heavy cyan tint over the whole thing. A transparent "M" in a semi-futuristic font, pans over the screen, followed by an "E" of the same type. The text then suddenly pans out all the way, revealing the text "METRODOME DISTRIBUTION" in a fairly spaced-out fashion and the latter work smaller and aligned to the right. A blue light is also seen encircling the text as it starts to emit light rays as well. The logo then rotates over to the front of the screen as the blue light forms an irregularly-shaped arc over the logo, the text stops glowing as a blue light emits across the logo and then the background fades to black. The text fades to white and the arc becomes a hazy light blue.

Variant: A filmed and widescreen variant exists.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth drone plays throughout as three whooshes are heard. A final, more impactful whoosh plays as the logo shines.

Availability: Seen on UK-released films and DVD releases from the time-period until 2009.

  • These include Transformers: The Movie and Flamenco, among others.
  • It is also seen on the 2001 UK VHS release of The Water Babies (2001 re-release), and the 2004 UK VHS release of Metalheads, respectively, among others.

2nd Logo (2009-2016)

Visuals: On a black background, a bright white light appears and moves to the right, emitting blue and red rays as it illuminates the dust in the air. A crystal "M" then appears and sparkles as it rotates into place, with a line of light starting to appear below it. It becomes a part of the "M", causing dust and sparkles to reveal the rest of the word "METRONOME" in a semi-transparent matter. It then fades to a red-tinted white color and becomes 2D, right as "DISTRIBUTION" appears below. The ray of light continues to shine before it.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An ambient crystalline soundtrack.

Availability: Currently seen on UK-released movies.
