Background

Mad as Birds is an independent British film and television production company founded in 2014.

1st Logo (June 23, 2014)

Visuals: On a black background, a black lid opens, revealing the company name in a serif font and with a burst effect against a white, rectangular hole. While the lid waves back and forth, the logo becomes white and loses its burst. Shortly before the lid closes, "FILMS" in a stretched format fades in.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The lid squeaking throughout its appearance and clicking the surface. After the clicking stops, a set of crows squawking are heard.

Availability: Only seen on Set Fire to the Stars.

2nd Logo (January 4, 2019-)

Visuals: On a black background, there are multiple silhouettes of white birds flying around from the distance, all leaving the screen for most of the logo's time. During this process, the company name is revealed; "mad" and "birds" are bolded and in a different serif font than "as". A still bird also acts as the "i"'s dot.

Variant: A shortened variant exists.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Nature ambience alongside flapping that leaves an echo after most of the birds leave the screen.

Availability: Seen on The Vanishing, Six Minutes to Midnight, and on the front page of their website. Although they have produced Poms, this logo doesn't appear on said film.
