Background

Jollibee is a Filipino chain of fast food restaurants owned by Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), which was founded in 1978. The first franchised outlet of Jollibee opened in Santa Cruz, Manila in 1979. The chain experienced rapid growth in the Philippines after its launch, with more than 1,150+ open stores nationally in 2019. As of December 2021, JFC had a total of about 1,500 Jollibee outlets worldwide, with restaurants in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Hong Kong, Macau, North America, and Europe. Their signature products include the Chickenjoy fried chicken meal and the Yumburger. Their mascot is Jollibee, an anthropomorphic red bee.
