Human Code

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (1995-1997)

Visuals: On a black background, the green text "Developed for Discovery Channel Multimedia by" appears above. This is followed by the Human Code logo fading in, which consists of a dog-like creature with a TV screen for its body, featuring wavy lines as static. Below is the text "H U M A N C O D E", with the first letter in both words being in a box. The logo is colored metallic green, rippling when it fades in and flashing white when the thunder strikes.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The sound of rain, followed by a thunder sound.

Availability: Seen on Team Xtreme - Operation: Weather Disaster and Operation: Eco Nightmare.

2nd Logo (July 4, 1996)

Visuals: On a black background, the "HUMAN CODE" text in grey can be seen on the bottom of the screen, as the creature (in grey with yellow lines) walks in the distance to the right. It then walks to the left, closer to the screen. It then walks closer and lower to the bottom, before appearing very close to the camera, nodding its head before leaving. It then comes from the left, leaping onto the text and resting above the text, which it and the lines inside it flash yellow.

Technique: 2D animation combined with 3D effects.

Audio: A whistle signifies the beginning of a rap beat, with the sounds of the creature walking, sniffing, and bouncing. It then ends with a few drums and the sound of sparks, ending long after the logo disappears.

Availability: Seen on Wishbone and the Amazing Odyssey.

3rd Logo (November 4, 1996-1997)

Visuals: On a black background, the creature from before, but in 2D, with a gold body and blue lines, leaps from the background, hopping several times. It then leaps into the air for a bit, before slamming down and causing sparks to form the "HUMAN CODE" name, while it turns 3D. It wiggles a bit before stopping and the text slowly zooms in. The glow from the static lines reveal a bumpy wall behind it.

Technique: Cel-animation.

Audio: Starts with the sound of cartoony galloping, in which a upbeat tune is played in sync with the hops. It ends with a large beat and the sound of a electrical blast.

Availability: Seen on the series of Schoolhouse Rock! educational games.

4th Logo (July 10, 1998-2001)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the Human Code logo in gold. There is a reflection of the logo underneath rippling.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A somber tune.

Availability: Seen on The Wild Thornberrys: Rambler and Barbie Riding Club.
