Background

Hot-B was originally formed in 1983 as a Japanese company. The company began publishing games under the GAMA brand at first, before the brand was dropped. An American arm began operating, and even operated a subsidiary Sage's Creation to produce Sega Genesis games. The Japanese branch shut down in 1993, while some members formed Starfish, while the U.S. arm survived for a few more years.
