Background

Helkon Media AG was a German media distribution company located in München, and founded in 1991 by Martin Heldmann and Werner Koenig. However, Werner Koenig died in an accident which occured in Verbien, Switzerland on November 12, 2000. On May 6, 2001, the company acquired the UK film distributor Redbus Film Distribution for $23 million, and renamed it to "Helkon SK" to reflect its partnership. The company ceased operations in 2003.

Visuals: The camera zooms quickly to a land having a sunlight, until it arrives to a small blue Colosseum having a gold searchlight coming from inside, which turns into a big light. The Colosseum zooms and rotates on the screen until it stops, becoming a still vector art. During this, the word "HELKON" in a spaced-out gold lettering and with "FILMVERLEIH" underneath appears below the symbol.

Trivia: The logo was also used for its UK division Helkon SK.

Variants:

  • On a few movies, the word "FILMVERLEIH" is omitted.
  • There's a still variant.
  • There is also a variant where the walls are lavender.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Some sounds of a radar, followed by a "whoosh" sound.

Availability: Found on various movies distrbuted in Germany, such as Legionnaire, House on Haunted Hill, and The Gift.
