Background: Hamdon Entertainment was the new name for the first incarnation of World International Network, after it was bought out by its last two international partners (Carlton, who inherited Central's share, and ARD, Germany's public broadcaster) in late 1995. Carlton eventually bought ARD's share, becoming sole owner. Currently, most of Hamdon's library is held by ITV Global.
1st Logo
(1996)
Nicknames: "Hamburg + London = Hamdon I", "Hamdon Filmstrip"
Logo: On a light gray background, the text "HAMDON entertainment", set in a serif font and colored black, with "entertainment" smaller than and placed underneath the "HAMDON", is seen superimposed over an illustration of a filmstrip colored in a slightly darker shade of gray than the background.
FX/SFX: None, since it's a still logo.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Rare, was seen on TV movies from the early '90s (most likely plastering the original WIN logo).
Editor's Note: None.
2nd Logo
(1998)Nicknames: "Hamburg + London = Hamdon II", "Hamdon Filmstrip II", "Improved Hamdon Filmstrip"
Logo: On the black/perwinkle cloudy background, we see a silver bar at the tilted angle with "LONDON" and "HAMBURG" on the top and the front, respectively. As we zoom out to face the front of the bar, the green laser beam cuts the bar into half, causing the right part to turn downwards to make "HAMDON" as the background turns black, then the bar fades out and "entertainment" below and the filmstrip (with a slight waving) from the last logo with the blue light behind fade in, forming the finished product similar to the last logo.
Variant: It also has a short version, starting from where the filmstrip appears.
FX/SFX: The logo forming and rotating, and the laser beam.
Music/Sounds: An abridged version of the next logo's theme, or none. Lifetime's print of When He Didn't Come Home have the Tribune Entertainment theme playing, trailing into the said company's logo. Original airings on CBS/NBC/ABC are using the network's respective generic themes.
Availability: Very rare, was seen on a handful of TV movies, such as A Father for Brittany and When He Didn't Come Home.
Editor's Note: TBA
3rd Logo
(1998?-early 2000s)Logo: Same as the last logo, but when the logo is almost formed, we zoom out and tilt to the right to reveal that the logo is on the filmstrip part of the stylized red H against the blue background with multiple copies of the same H, then the words "HAMDON ENTERTAINMENT" fade in below, while the blue light shines behind the H.
Variant: There is short versions, the most common one being the last few seconds of the finished product.
FX/SFX: See the last logo.
Music/Sounds: A synth and trumpet tune with laser burning sound. CBS/NBC/ABC airings used their generic themes.
Availability: Common, it was seen on TV movies from the late '90s and reprints of old World International Network productions.
