HBO Films/Logo Variations

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Three Amigos! (1986): After the Orion Pictures logo finishes, the Orion logo fades away, but the starry sky remains. Then, the words "IN ASSOCIATION WITH HOME BOX OFFICE" fade in and the logo changes into the first scene of the movie via a sunburst transition effect.

On the trailer, the same text is under the Orion logo.

Video Valentines Video Collection (1990, HBO Video): The 1988 HBO Video logo appears inside a heart. This was seen on a trailer advertising love-related movies for Valentine's Day 1991 by Warner Home Video. Seen on the Canadian demo VHS of Quick Change.

Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman (1993): The logo is a parody of the 20th Century Fox (searchlights, the night sky and the letter arrangement) and Paramount (the mountain in the background) logos. Also, the shadow of the biplane passes through. The music is a parody of the Fox fanfare.

Sex and the City: The Movie (2008): After several seconds, the logo changes its color to fuchsia.

Behind the Candelabra (2013): A high-definition remake of the 1978-81 HBO bumper is used. "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer is heard instead of the normal music and voiceover.

The Normal Heart (2014): A high-definition remake of a different 1980's HBO bumper is used.
