Background

Great Oaks Entertainment was a short-lived production company that was founded in 1995 as a merger between John Hughes's Hughes Entertainment and Ricardo Mestres Productions. It was based at Disney Studios in Los Angeles. Sadly, it only produced three films, Jack (from Hollywood Pictures), 101 Dalmatians and Flubber, both of which belonged to the Disney library.

(November 27, 1996-November 26, 1997)

Logo: We zoom out from behind the trunk of an oak tree. An acorn falls from the top of the tree, and bumps down the branches. A leaf has also fallen, and is following the acorn. They fall onto a lake, with the acorn landing on the leaf. A script "Great Oaks" fades in below the logo, as ripples resonate from the leaf.

FX/SFX: The acorn and leaf falling and landing on the water, animated by Prologue.

Music/Sounds: On 101 Dalmatians, it is just the sound of the acorn bumping the branches and sounds coming from other sources. On Flubber, the opening theme plays over the logo.

Availability: Appeared only on two films, the live action adaptation of 101 Dalmatians and Flubber. Don't expect to see this appear on Jack as it only has an in-credit disclaimer.

Editor's Note: This logo reeks of early CGI.
