Background

This was a production company ran by Gary Goodman and Barry Rosen, launched in 1985. Most of their productions were made for The Family Channel or distributed by New World Television. The company closed in 1998.



1st Logo (March 3-May 8, 1985)


Visuals: During the end credits, the words "GOODMAN" and "ROSEN" slide in. A slash appears between either name, along with "PRODUCTIONS" and "in association with" below.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: The closing theme of the movie.

Availability: Appeared on the television films Secret Weapons and Going for Gold.

2nd Logo (January 5, 1990-February 25, 1991)


Visuals: On a black background is the italicized text "G O O D M A N R O S E N", with "P R O D U C T I O N S" below in a similar fashion. A red line separates the words.

Variants:

  • At times the above text would appear smaller.
  • An in-credit version exists on the pilot for Zorro.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the program.

Availability: It was seen on the first two seasons of Zorro (1990) which was last reran on Retro Television Network years ago, but has also been released on home media. It also appeared on the television movie The Stranger Within.

3rd Logo (September 1, 1991-December 1, 1996)


Visuals: On a scratched-up powder blue background, "GOODMAN", in a '30s Art Deco font, slides in from the right, while "ROSEN", in the same font, slides in from the left. They stop in the center with a slash between them. "PRODUCTIONS" fades in below.

Variant: On season 4 of Zorro, the animation is slower and "PRODUCTIONS" doesn't appear.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A three-note piano jingle or the closing theme.

Availability: It appeared on The Mighty Jungle and the TV movie Christmas Every Day. Also seen on seasons 3 and 4 of Zorro.

4th Logo (September 22, 1997-May 23, 1998)


Visuals: Against a blue map of the world with golden continents, the words "GOODMAN" and "ROSEN" slide in, as a slash fades in between either name along with "p r o d u c t i o n s" in a font similar to that of the second logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: It was only seen on Police Academy: The Series, which is available for viewing on Tubi.
