Gaumont Télévision

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

This was Gaumont's television arm.

1st Logo (October 3, 1992-June 30, 1998)

Visuals: On a dark gray marble BG, there is the Gaumont Télévision logo, with "Gaumont" written in red in its corporate font, "Télévision" written in silver in a fancy sans serif font, and a thick silver line below it.

Variant:

  • An early variant had all the logo colored in a shining red tone.
  • On Highlander: The Animated Series, a screen of rippling and swirling blue waves (part of the closing credits) crossfades into this logo, which "ripples". After, it fades to the blue waves again.

Technique: A still digital graphic. CGI for the variant.

Audio: A dreamy synth tune, none, or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Appeared on Highlander: The Series (both live-action and animated). The live action series was last seen on Syfy. It was also seen on Tales of the South Seas.

2nd Logo (September 26, 1998-May 27, 2000)

Visuals: On a space background, there is a extremely zoomed-in shot of the then-current Gaumont red daisy logo. Under is "Gaumont" in the same color of the daisy, and "Télévision", but in white.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Highlander: The Raven and Relic Hunter.
