Gamezlab

Background

Gamezlab was a core gaming subsidiary of BBC Worldwide's BBC Multimedia division founded in 2001. In December 2002, when the BBC purchased bankrupt developer Runecraft (who were at the time developing the technology for BBC Three series FightBox as well as a tie-in video game), they rebranded the developer under the Gamezlab name.

Gamezlab was closed in September 2004 following the cancellation of a video game based on Spooks, alongside BBC Multimedia's downsizing to become solely a licensor before ceasing operations entirely in 2006.
