Background

Beijing-based Galloping Horse (小馬奔騰) was founded by Li Ming (李明) in 1989, and has been expanding its business from film and TV production into the exhibition sector, building theaters in second- and third-tier cities in China. It didn't get an onscreen logo until 2009.

1st Logo (November 26, 2009)

Visuals: There's a red square with a stick horse with its head looking back. On the right of the symbol, there are some Chinese characters, and under there, the following:

北京小马奔腾影视制作有限公司
Beijing Galloping Horse
Film & TV Production

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen only on Mulan (2009).

2nd Logo (September 28, 2010)

Visuals: The sequence starts off with a tsunami on a sky background. As the camera pans over the tsunami, the tsunami starts to close, and then a horse jumps over it. The horse lands over a rocky ground, as it gallops over it, and then gallops over the camera, and then waves splash over the camera. Then, the same symbol from before, with the same Chinese text from last logo and a red line with text "Galloping Horse Films" under it, washes over itself.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The sequence starts with waves crashing, followed by a melancholy string fanfare, the horse's neighs as it emerges from the waves, and water splashes as it gallops through the group.

Availability: Only seen on the 2010 film Reign of Assassins.

3rd Logo (February 14, 2011)

Visuals: On a city background, a spinning ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, and a shop, pop up while the camera is zooming out. The camera zooms out to a couple standing on an entrance to a movie theater, which does not pop up after a few seconds, with the man holding an umbrella and a camera tripod like thing on the right on them. A fountain with a naked boy statue holding a bow and arrow pops up. The "camera" on the tripod thing jumps, to reveal it was actually a stick horse. The horse flies looks back, and flies away as the background moves to a picnic, going past a tree. The horse looks at the tree hole as birds fly away and a small bird lands on the hole. Two men are shown, along with a woman holding a wine glass on a picnic cloth, and a group of men behind them. A city is shown on the center left, as a few buildings pop up. The men are holding bottle glasses as they clink them, and sip them up. The horse looks at the men, as the first man gives a thumbs up. The horse flies and the background moves to the city from the picnic in whole, as a group of ladies crossing a road pops up, with the third lady taking her dog, along with several buildings popping up on both sides. The horse looks at the group of the ladies crossing. The horse jumps over one of the buildings as the camera moves, to show a grass background with some trees. There are parents holding up their child. The parents pull up him on their shoulders. The horse circles around the parents as this is happening. The horse gallops, and the camera moves to reveal some kites flying. The horse gallops over the background, and jumps over before freezing. The horse looks back, as red Chinese text (which is the same Chinese text from the previous logos) and the text underneath it "Galloping Horse Productions" wipes from the right. A red square appears on the horse, as it turns white.

Technique: Traditional animation combined with 3D animation.

Audio: A cheerful guitar theme, glasses clinking, children giggling, and then a horse neighing at the end.

Availability: Only seen on the 2011 film Eternal Moment.

4th Logo (August 2, 2012-July 30, 2015)

Visuals: On a stone background with dust flying around with several stone age drawings, the stick horse from last logo is shown carved on the background, with another stick horse carved on the right. The horse then runs, along with the camera. Several stick horse carvings are shown, which animates their moves, as the camera moves along. The screen flashes, and the camera freezes to one of the horses. The camera moves, and the camera flashes again, which freezes to another horse. As the camera continues to move, continuing to animate the horse, the screen flickers. After a few seconds, the screen stops flickering. A few seconds later, the camera zooms out, and then stops running as the camera stops moving as well. Then, the same Chinese letters from the previous logos breaks open on both sides of the horse, as well as "GALLOPING HORSE PRODUCTION" breaking and opening. The horse then turns its head back, like the previous logo.

Variant: A short variant exists of where the sequence starts off at where the logo is formed.

Technique: 2D animation combined with CGI.

Audio: The sound of wind blowing, and then a horse neighing. An upbeat drum theme plays as the horse runs, along with voices going "HE! HO!" for the animation freezes. A "HO!" is heard as the horse stops running, and then a crash sound, along with stone cracking sounds. A horse neighing is heard as the horse turns its head.

Availability: Seen on Lethal Hostage, as well as the two parts of The Crossing.

The arrows launch, and the camera pans over a board, with the arrows hitting it. The camera moves over two men holding guns while looking to the left.
