So yeah I returned but this time I'm here to talk about the new rule and why it's terrible

1. It came out of nowhere

2. It's Really Unnecessary

3. It's Not needed.

4. Deleting the images will leave a big hole in the pages

Hi. I asked Matt about the rule, and basically, if an image is uploaded, then either in the file name, the file description, or the logo description where the image is uploaded, the source is gotta be there too. Now, this may be my thought only, but I don't think this applies to images that are already on this Wiki, only to the new ones from now on. Hope this clears your confusion.

I agree. Not to mention that I feel like this rule is vague such as with "new logos and variations". Does this specify ALL new captures or the rare and unusual finds? And it raises many questions and comments as well:

Does it also apply to TV idents, print logos, and other type of logos that aren't seen outside a specific piece of media? What if the video the image was sourced from was captured from an unspecified media? If we don't know what piece of media used this particular logo, are simply links to the videos we captured from alright? This especially applies to station IDs because they aren't seen within TV shows or movies.

Honestly, if this rule was more specific and had more clarification, I wouldn't be too disappointed with it.

I mean I kinda see where he's coming from. Back on the old WikiFoundry CLG I used to source each of my logo finds, and even though I don't really upload images anymore I thought everybody would keep on doing that. Apparently not? Sorry, haven't been really keeping tabs on the wiki all that much (except for that Noah/DVD Haas thing) but I see where Matt comes from. It might seem abrupt yeah, but honestly we should've made it a rule a looooong while back.

We aren't gonna mass-delete all the old images, that's ridiculous and would heavily go against what this wiki stands for
