Fandango

Background

Fandango was founded in 1989 by film producer Domenico Procacci, who named it after the 1985 film Fandango starring Kevin Costner.

Logo (February 3, 2001-)

Visuals: The sequence starts off with two hands that extend a black thin ribbon, numbers for the frames of animation on the bottom left corner of the screen. The red, sketchy word "F A N D A N G O" appears over the ribbon. The ribbon and text are placed on top of the screen. There is the feet of two dancers underneath, a man in black shoes and pants and a woman in white high heels and bare legs. They twirl together as the screen zooms back to see them dancing in full; the woman has a white dress. The man holds another black ribbon as the woman holds the other end, twirling away from him to the right of the screen as the ribbon stretches across. The logo cuts to black.

Trivia: This logo was animated by Gianluigi Toccafondo, who also animated the Scott Free Productions logo.

Technique: Oil-painted animation.

Audio: A string theme sampled from the track "Gabriel Tango" by Paulo Buonvino, from the soundtrack of the movie Ecco Fatto.
