Logo (1990s)

Visuals: Fading in from black, there is a control set seen on a VCR. A golden fast-forward button flies in and plasters itself onto the white printing of the control set. Another one flies in, then a golden play button flies in as well as with another fast-forward symbol as the screen zooms away from the control set. The camera then zooms on to the VHS screen where something is playing and there's 41 seconds left. The screen then pans up from it to reveal a TV (a Phillips-brand to be specific), where the screen has a zooming space background and a galaxy shape made up of spinning golden play and fast-forward symbols spinning in a clockwise rotation. The symbols straighten into a ring shape as a blue board, with the initials "eve" carved into it, flips in and rests behind the ring of symbols. The background fades to white as the board and ring become 2D. The words "espace vidéo européen" are also shown, vertically aligned to the left in a blue italicized font.

Variant: An extended version exists where, after the logo forms up and fades to black, some text fades in which reads "Publication aided by ESPACE VIDEO EUROPEEN, an initiative of the Irish Film Institute and the Médiathèque de la Communauté Française de Belgique within the framework of the MEDIA Programme of the Commission of the European Communities". The disclaimer changes languages depending on the country its released in.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A reversed cymbal crash and a clang to start, then a tuba/synth flute, and synth bells when the ring of symbols are spinning. A rising synth note and gong are heard when the board and ring become flat. The extended variant has the synth note play for longer, accompanying the disclaimer.

Availability: This was a short-lived attempt to create a pan-European Union video brand; it can be found on tapes distributed by them in France, Ireland, Spain, and also some Finnish TUGS tapes. It possibly appeared in other countries.
