Background
Eprad Starscope Stereo Sound is a cinema stereo sound technology which reproduces Dolby Stereo-encoded films in non-Dolby theaters.
1st Logo (Late 1970-Early 1980s?)
Visuals: Against a disco-kaleidoscopic background, the text "Our Feature Presentation" appears at the top third of the screen. After a few seconds, the text "Recorded in Dolby Stereo" begins flying upward toward the center of the screen. The top text fades out before the bottom text reaches the center, which then flies toward the camera before fading away. "Reproduced in" then fades in directly underneath "Our Feature Presentation." "Starscope" then fades in using a bold uppercase font, followed by "Eprad" (to the top left of "Starscope"), "Stereo Sound" (to the bottom right) and finally "The Finest In Motion Picture Sound Equipment" (underneath). The logo holds for several seconds before cutting out.
Technique: Scanimate effects.
Audio: A bombastic Disco fanfare based on Igor Stravinsky's "Disappearance of Koschei's Palace and Magical Creations, Return to Life of the Petrified Knights, General Rejoicing", which dissolves into a "warbling" Electric Guitar sound towards the end.
Availability: Seen in Starscope-equipped theaters during the company's lifespan.
