Background

EAI Interactive was formed in 1996 by Iowa software company Engineering Animation, Inc. EAI, wanting to broaden its scope of development, purchased a small video game developer in Salt Lake City, Utah headed by Bryan Brandenburg called Software Arts International. This new studio became the primary location of EAI Interactive's activities. In addition to game development, EAI's medical and scientific illustration team developed a variety of 3D interactive educational products. In 1999, it was bought out by Unigraphics Solutions, Inc.

Logo (1996-1999)

Visuals: On a black background, a blurry, rainbow object swirls around with a blurry "E A I" moving around the object. The logo unblurs, revealing that the object is an abstract eye. The logo flashes, inverting the colors and "I N T E R A C T I V E" with a trademark next to it fades in.

Variant: On Clue, the Hasbro Interactive logo takes place in a stormy sky. When the thunder strikes, the EAI Interactive logo is also shown.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth violin note similar to the opening of the song "Porcelain" by Moby, followed by a reversed cymbal and a synthesized choir note.

Audio Variant: On Clue, a haunted theme is heard.

Availability: Can be spotted on many games, though many of them are out of print. It was seen on Field & Stream: Trophy Buck, Barbie Hair Styler and several Scooby-Doo licenses. The variant is seen on Clue.
