Background

TV Perú is the public television network of Peru. It is the first television station in the country and the one with the greatest national coverage. Since 2010, it officially began its broadcasts on digital terrestrial television and became the first Peruvian channel to officially use this technology. It is part of the National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP) along with other media such as Radio Nacional del Perú and Radio La Crónica AM, which are also owned by the Peruvian Government. Its sister channel, TV Perú Internacional, transmits its signal throughout America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and North Africa.

1st Logo (1958-1969)

Visuals: On a white background is text that says "UNESCO" at the top, along with "CANAL 7" at the middle and "E.E.M.E.P" at the bottom.

Technique: A still, printed graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on a small ident telling a long story short on how TV Perú was born for its 50 years.

2nd Logo (1969-1978)

Visuals: On a black background is the number "7" with the top part resembling a TV screen and the diagonal part being a curvy four-sided shape. The numeral is placed between two texts, reading "canal" & "tv". After remaining static for five seconds, the sequence fades to stacked white text reading "PERU VISION".

Technique: Early computer effects.

Audio: A disco-typetune with a male announcer speaking in Spanish.

3rd Logo (1974-1978)



Visuals: On a white static background, there is the number "7" in a black circle with 3 rings surrounding it. There is also thehe word "canal" placed inside the surperior part of the numeral. The logo is seen slowly zooming in.

Technique: Motion-controlled animation.

Audio: None

4th Logo (1978-1979)

Visuals: On a white background, we see the number "7" in a similar style to the (1969-1978) one, with the text "canal" & "tv". There's also the ENRAD Perú logo in a white circle on the right of the number.

Trivia: This is known to be the first ident of the channel to be aired in color.
