The Instituto Nacional de Radio y Televisión - Inravisión was a Colombian state-owned broadcasting company created in 1963 by order of Decree 3267 to replace the previous entity, Radiotelevisora Nacional de Colombia. Up until 1998, Inravisión was the only free-to-air TV broadcaster in that country, holding a virtual monopoly until 1998, when Caracol and RCN Televisión launched their commercial TV channels, leading up to its demise. In 2004, by order of Decree 3525, the company and its sister entity, the state-owned TV production company Audiovisuales were liquidated and folded into Radio Televisión Nacional de Colombia (RTVC).
