Background

Delta 4 was a British software developer founded in 1984 by Fergus McNeill. Some of its games are self-published, and some were released by CRL Group, Piranha Software, Silversoft or On-line Entertainment. Delta 4 was shut down in 1998.



1st Logo (1985-1987)

Visuals: The text "DELTA 4" in the Stop typeface, is shown in-credit.

Variants:

  • On Galaxias, the font of the logo is slightly modified with the glyph in a different design and as a descender.
  • On The Colour of Magic and The Big Sleaze, the left side of the "E" is slanted with the "TA" connected, with the four in a different design.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on old Delta 4 games from the time period, with some released by other companies. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (1992)

Visuals: On a black background, there are three letters reading "D4i" with the "i" dotless facing down and rotating into view. A blue dot with a gray rear flips which accompanies the letters and settles on the "i". The text "Delta 4 Interactive" is seen below barely visible, with light passing from left to right. After that, the letters shine.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A four-note synth brass fanfare.

Availability: Seen only on Town With no Name for both CDTV and MS-DOS.

3rd Logo (1992)

Visuals: On a space background, there is a beveled gray rectangle with the letters "D4i" and the text "Delta 4 Interactive" behind it with a drop shadow which is seen above facing downward while zooming out and rotating into view.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A helicopter-like taking off.

Availability: Seen only on Psycho Killer for both CDTV and MS-DOS.
