1st Logo (1997-2005)

Visuals: On a blue wood background with a DVD logo engraved into it, the ghostly text "DVD Encoding and Authoring By" is shown, along with the light blue and white rectangle with a carve of the C like moon and the text says "CREST" in black, and "NATIONAL" in white and an URL below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the text is different and the URL is removed.
  • Custom variants exist on some DVDs:
    • On the 1998 N.A. DVD of The Borrowers, it appeared on film shot.
    • On Mr. Saturday Night, it is on a light brown background.
    • On the 1998 DVD of Halloween, we instead see a shot from the film, with the logo over a pumpkin. Michael Myers can be seen from the window on the right, with his knife being visible in the kitchen.
    • On the 1999 DVD of Army of Darkness, the logo is at an angle, and Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) is grabbing it.
    • On the 2000 DVD of Girls Just Want to Have Fun, "DVD" is in a larger font than the rest of the text. The background is also a shot from the film.
    • On the DVD of Bean: The Movie, it is on a yellow background with Mr. Bean.
    • On the 2000 DVD of Santa Claus: The Movie, the logo is over a shot of Santa (Dudley Moore)'s workshop.
    • On the 1999 DVD of Bad Lieutenant, it appeared as a carving on a jail cell wall.
    • On the 1999 DVD of Permanent Midnight, the background is a stone carving of the logo.
    • On Sprung, Evil Dead II, and Manhunter, it appeared on a shot from the film.
    • On the 2000 DVD of The Kentucky Fried Movie, it's styled like the disc's other menus, complete with a shot of one of the movie's characters next to it.
    • On the 2001 DVD of Suspiria, it's styled like the disc's other menus, and "DVD" appears above the logo.

Availability: Seen at the end of some Anchor Bay DVDs, such as Tapeheads, Fruits of Passion and other Anchor Bay titles, as well as the Studio Home Entertainment DVD of The Million Dollar Hotel, the Trimark DVDs of Stephen King's Storm of the Century and Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th, the Avalanche DVD of Blue Juice, the New Line DVD of Pecker, and the Artisan DVDs of The Substitute 3: Winner Takes All, The Return of the Pink Panther, Ringmaster, Jesus of Nazareth, and Plenty.

2nd Logo (May 22, 2001-2007)

Visuals: On a dark blue-black background, there is a globe with a sunburst effect behind it. Circling it are two arrows, with "DVD" in-between them and "It's Digital!" underneath. In the lower right corner is the Crest National logo, with "ENCODING," "AUTHORING," and "MENU DESIGN" next to it.

Variant: A widescreen variant exists.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen at the end of some 2000s Anchor Bay DVDs, such as the THX certified edition of Heathers (the first release to use it), The Nutcracker and the Mouseking, Three's Company: Season One, several Thomas & Friends DVDs, beginning with Thomas' Snowy Surprise & Other Adventures, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry: Supercharger Edition, and The Jazz Singer (1980): 25th Anniversary Edition. It also appears at the end of the Lions Gate DVDs of The Wash and American Psycho 2, and the 2002 Republic/Artisan DVDs of High Noon and Rio Grande.
