Background

Cineflix is a Canadian media production and distribution company, founded in 2000 by Glen Salzman and Catherine Buck and based in Montreal, Quebec.

1st Logo (December 2001-2007)

Visuals: A black-and-white eye zooms out spinning on a white background, and the word "CINEFLIX" flies out of it below. The eye then blinks and its pupil turns blue.

Variant: On international productions, the text "Distributed by Cineflix International" is seen fading in below the logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: None or the closing theme.

Audio Variant: Earlier on, a repeating guitar string theme was used.

Availability: Seen on Cineflix's earlier productions.

2nd Logo (2007-)

Visuals: On a white background, a pair of blue circles draws in, followed by a smaller pair of circles. Meanwhile, they spin around and the space between them gets filled except for a bit at the two sides. Then, another pair of circles forms and inside it a red circle that soon opens up to a "c" shape, while the blue circle bits merge into a bigger "c", then split again. During this, the word "cineflix" flies in below the formation, and the whole thing turns 2D.

Variants:

  • A version exists with the inner "c" in blue.
  • On scripted productions, the word "Rights" flies in with the company name.
  • On international productions, the word "International" flies in with the company name.
  • An alternate version is seen on Cineflix's website, in which the logo is all green on a black background and "Studios" flies in with the company name. The formation then zooms in and deforms.

Technique: CGI by British design agency Mindcorp.

Audio: None or the closing theme.

Availability:

  • Seen on Cineflix productions since 2007.
  • The "Rights" variant also appears at the end of a Yle Areena streaming print of The Day Will And Kate Got Married, following the Finestripe Productions for ITV endcap as well.
