Cheri Sundae Productions

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

This is Cheri Brownlee's vanity card.

1st Logo (May 27, 2006-August 22, 2008)

Visuals: On a white background, a giant red monster is seen with a grimacing face, several black strands of hair, and is holding 2 spoons as a cherry-topped vanilla sundae is seen in front of him. He then says the company name as a messy spread of black dots wipes in below in a arched formation, followed by the text "Cheri Sundae productions" rising up from below, with "Cheri Sundae" in a 50's script font with shiny edges and a drop shadow. The monster then messily eats most of the sundae (while his eyes turn from vertical ovals to regular circles as he closes his eyes), before he stops and spits out the cherry, forming the dot on the "i" as he briefly bobs down and up

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Just the monster saying "Cheri Sundae!", followed by the sound of the mumbling while eating, followed by a "ptoo!" and a ding (however distorted somewhat) when the cherry dots the "i".

Availability: Appeared on Disorderly Conduct: Video on Patrol on Spike.

2nd Logo (February 13, 2009-)

Visuals: On a white background, the bulbous text "cheri sundae" is seen in a glossy red-dark red gradient color, with an updated version of the monster in-between the words, and the script text "productions" below the bottom right of the logo. The monster is much more cartoony in appearance, with a cherry stem replacing his hair, a more bulbous body and thinner arms, and a goofier-looking smile. The logo then plays out in a similar way to the previous logo, but the monster spits out the cherry to the left, and it shines twice.

Variants:

  • The logo is still in the showcase video on the official website.
  • An extended version exists where it transitions to the logo by the monster closing its mouth, before it fully zooms out and the logo continues as normal.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Same as the last logo, except there's a "crunch" sound. There's also a shining sound before the monster says "Cheri Sundae!". The "ding" is less distorted.

Availability: Seen on Shockwave and Pranked.
