This is the production unit of CBC.



1st Logo (1996-February 12, 1998)


Visuals: Over a shining water background, the logo starts with some ripples forming a blue CBC logo accompanied by the stacked text "Produced in association with The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation", placed below.

Variants:

  • A copyright stamp variant exists.
  • An alternate version has the text "Canadian Broadcasting Corporation" with the CBC symbol above it.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen at the end of CBC-produced shows and TV movies, as well as a 2011 True Movies UK airing of At The End of the Day: The Sue Rodriguez Story.

2nd Logo (October 22, 1997-November 29, 2001)


Visuals: On a black background, there is the text "produced in association with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation". The CBC logo shines and moves a bit left, than fades, being more and less close to the camera, facing the front and shining, than fades again, being larger.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, especially on its last years, the URL "www.cbc.ca" will appear.
  • On Our Hero, the logo is slowed down to about 70% its normal speed.
  • On Little Bear episodes starting with "Duck Loses Her Quack / Feathers In A Bunch / Detective Little Bear", the text reads "produced with the participation of Canadian Broadcasting Corporation" instead.

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, it is silent.
  • On Our Hero, a three-note theme based off of CBC's jingle of the time plays, followed by a piano riff, a flourish, and what seems to be a segue into a drum-oriented theme before it abruptly fades out.

Availability: Seen on Canadian TV shows produced by CBC from the era, such as season 2 of Black Harbour and seasons 1-3 of Edgemont. It can be also be found on early season 1 episodes of Rolie Polie Olie on the Treehouse Direct Youtube channel.

3rd Logo (September 30, 2001-April 3, 2007)


Visuals: On a moving red background, there is the CBC logo in white. The text "CBC" is below the logo. Underneath, there is the text "produced in association with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation".

Variants:

  • A rare bylineless version of this logo exists.
  • There's also a zoomed-in or streched widescreen version of this logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Audio Variants:

  • The logo is sometimes silent.
  • On a CBC airing of a season 2 episode of Dragon Booster, the Jetix logo's sounds play over the logo.
  • On This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Rock Camp and Record Man: The Life and Times of Sam Sniderman, the music of CBC's "Canada's Own" bumpers (used from 2001-2006) is used.

Availability: Seen on CBC shows from the era, such as seasons 4-5 of Edgemont, The Save-Ums and Dragon Booster.

4th Logo (September 9, 2006-October 6, 2008)


Visuals: On a spinning globe background, there is the CBC logo and the text "Produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (URL)" below.

Variant: On The Mighty Jungle, the logo is in-credit and would appear sped-up.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on CBC shows from the era, such as Intelligence and the first 2 seasons of Little Mosque on the Prairie.

5th Logo (September 3, 2007-November 15, 2010)


Visuals: On a moving red background, there is the white CBC logo blurring and zooming, before the text "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION [year]" appears below. A line flies around the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Audio Variant: Sometimes, the music of CBC's "Canada's Own" bumpers (used from 2001-2006) is used.

Availability: Seen on season 1 of Being Erica and CBC Kids airings of season 1 of Super WHY! (including the international prints).

6th Logo (September 22, 2009-February 10, 2010)


Visuals: On a dark red background, there is a flower that turns into a CBC logo. The background changes into scarlet with some lights. Then, the text "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION [year] (URL)" fades in below.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on season 3's first 14 episodes of Heartland and season 4 of Little Mosque on the Praire.

7th Logo (March 1, 2010-2012)


Visuals: On a white background, there are three parts of the CBC logo. The parts zoom in and form the CBC logo. The text "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION [year]" fades in below.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on CBC shows from the era, such as season 3 of Being Erica.

8th Logo (2012-April 7, 2015)


Visuals: On a dark red background, there is a close-up of the white colored CBC logo forming, which zooms out. The text from before fades in below.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on CBC shows from the era. Also appears on season 1 of Schitt's Creek on The CW.

9th Logo (2014-2021)


Visuals: On a maroon background, there are the pieces of a white CBC logo flipping and zooming out. The text "Produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation [year]" fades in below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the URL of the show will show up.
  • There also exists a kids' version of this logo, which replaces the middle circle with two big white circle eyes and a white smiling mouth.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The closing theme of the show or none.

Availability: Seen on current CBC shows, like Heartland, etc. The Kids' CBC version can be found on certain Kids' CBC shows such as Dot, Detention Adventure, etc.

10th Logo (January 5, 2021-)


Visuals: On a maroon background, a white "C" draws in, which then becomes a full circle as the other parts of the CBC logo expand out of it. "CBC" then fades in to the right of the logo, along with the text "Produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation [year]".

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on current CBC shows, such as Humour Resources.
