Background

This is Jon Stewart's production company, founded in the mid-1990s.

1st Logo (October 25, 1993-September 20, 1996)

Visuals: A black-and-white picture of a busboy holding a basket of dishes is shown. The text "BUSBOY" is superimposed over the body. At the bottom of the basket is the spaced out word "PRODUCTIONS".

Variant: Sometimes, the text drops in.

Technique: None usually.

Audio: The closing theme of the show, or the sound of glass shattering followed by Jon Stewart saying "Oop! Sorry."

Availability: It appeared on The Jon Stewart Show, which is long gone from television. It was also seen at the end of Jon Stewart: Unleavened.

2nd Logo (October 17, 2005-July 20, 2015)

Visuals: On a black background, a "B" streaks in from the left of the screen, leaving behind its left section, which soon follows it (similar to Touchstone Pictures' snake logo). When the "B" is finished forming, the word "BUSBOY" fades in below it, in a font resembling DIN 1451.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A redone version of the previous logo's second musical variant.

Availability: It was seen on early episodes of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, The Colbert Report, and Important Things with Demetri Martin.

3rd Logo (September 28, 2015-)

Visuals: Over a dark blue gradient background, the logo starts with lines form the logo out of position from each other. It is then formed correctly as a flash appears with the company name from before.

Variant: On The Daily Show, the background is black instead.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A jingle with xylophone notes, followed by a laser-like sound and the company name shouted by an unknown man.

Audio Variant: Sometimes, the audio from the previous logo is used, with a synth note (or sometimes the synth note is removed) at the end.

Availability: Seen on later episodes of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore on Comedy Central, as well as The Problem with Jon Stewart on Apple TV+ and The Daily Show (where Jon Stewart returns as a host on Monday nights, while the remainder of the week would be hosted by the show's correspondents) on Comedy Central from 2024 onwards.
