Background

BreakThru Films is a Polish film studio founded in 2002, initially based in the United Kingdom before moving to Poland. It is best known for their first hand-painted feature film, Loving Vincent, released on September 22, 2017. Their recent production was The Peasants, released on September 13, 2023 at the TIFF, and on October 13 in Poland.

Logo (September 22, 2017-)

Visuals: On a brown background illuminated by fire, four horses are running. They then turn right as the camera focuses on the hooves of the front horse. The screen then pans out to see the words "BREAKTHRU FILMS", both enclosed in a box with "FILMS" being filled everywhere except the text. Sparks of fire fly upwards.

Technique: Hand-painted animation.

Audio: The horses galloping, accompanied by a tribal chant and fire crackling.

Availability: First seen on Loving Vincent, and recently seen on The Peasants.
