Background

Blue Castle Games was a Canadian video game developer founded in 2005 in Burnaby, British Columbia by Robert Barrett. The studio had developed several successful baseball video games, including The Bigs and MLB Front Office Manager, as well as the Dead Rising series. After the release of Dead Rising 2, Capcom acquired the studio and renamed it to "Capcom Vancouver", in which Microsoft Studios also had a minority stake. After laying off about 60 employees, Capcom announced the closure of the studio in September 2018, cancelling Dead Rising titles in the works and moving other development to their Japan-based studios.
