Background

This is the production company of Bryan Singer, formed in 1994. As of 2019, the fate of the company is left in limbo due to the sexual abuse allegations against him.

1st Logo (November 16, 2004-October 26, 2012)

Logo: We see 2 cartoon men on a beach, sitting next to a penthouse. One of them sits on a cooler, the other on a beach chair, both in beach attire. The company name in black is at the top of the screen. The man (which must be Martin Brody from Jaws) on the left (presumably Harry) is wearing a rather silly aviator-type hat. The man on the right leans over a bit, towards Harry, and says "That's some bad hat, Harry." A shark fin can be seen in the ocean, as well as two seagulls.

Trivia: This logo is a homage to a film, namely Jaws.

Variant: The logo would be in a 4:3 version (seen on full-screen prints) or a 16:9 version.

Technique: The entire logo was animated in Adobe Flash at Angry Alien Productions.

Music/Sounds: The man's high-pitched dialogue, although on The Triangle, the sounds of the wind and seagulls are heard.

Availability: Appears at the end of House, The Triangle, The Science of Superman, and the reboot special of Mockingbird Lane.

Legacy: Although referencing Jaws, it is considered a humorous logo.

2nd Logo (May 25, 2011-February 26, 2019)

Logo: There are silhouettes of five people walking into and settling in front of a background screen consisting of horizontal white lines. After they take place, the logo becomes a glossy stencil on a cerulean wall with the logo turning red, and as the logo zooms out, the text "BAD HAT HARRY" fade in, in the same color under it. The picture then turns wet because of rain falling down from the logo.

Trivia: Again, this is a homage to a film, but this time one of the most notable scenes from The Usual Suspects.

Variants:

• On Jack the Giant Slayer, the logo is longer and starts with the feet of the people in the logo walking, which are replaced by silhouettes of the film's characters.
• On the first season of Legion and The Gifted, the logo is still and in the middle of the screen with the The Donners' Company logo on the left and the Kinberg Genre logo on the right. On the latter, the print version is used.
• A shortened version exists.

Technique: Live-action footage and CGI animation. This logo was done by Prologue.

Music/Sounds: A switch-on sound, footsteps, and an ominous "plink-plonk" soundtrack. Otherwise, the opening theme of the film or silence.

Availability: Appears on X-Men: First Class, Uwantme2killhim?, Jack the Giant Slayer, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse. A shortened version can be seen on H+: The Digital Series and Black Box. Also seen on Legion and The Gifted.

Legacy: Like the last logo, this is seen as a uniquely-made film homage.
