Background

Atomic Planet Entertainment was a British game development studio headquartered in Middlesbrough, England and founded by Darren and Jason Falcus. They were best known for making video games based on movies such as Jumanji.

1st Logo (May 14, 2002-November 11, 2003)

Visuals: On a white background, an astronaut-shaped monkey is seen and punches into the screen with a boxing glove on it. As soon as the monkey turns black, a blue planet falls over the monkey, and the letters "ATOMIC PLANET" bounces all over the letters. Then another planet flies in, and then a comet flying into a monkey on a spaceship flies in, as "entertainment" fades in on the bottom right. Then, the logo flashes and the logo turns 2D.

Variants:

  • A still version exists.
  • On the Xbox game of Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown, the already-formed logo zooms out onto a brown background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A jungle-like theme, with monkey sounds, and a whoosh, followed by drumbeats, and cartoony sounds, and a whoosh when a comet flies in, followed by more monkey noises.

Availability: The full version is seen on the Xbox port of Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing. The still version is seen on the GBA games of Aero the Acro-Bat, Zapper and Super Puzzle Fighter II.

2nd Logo (Mega Man: Anniversary Collection custom variant) (June 22, 2004-March 15, 2005)

Visuals: There is a spotlight shining on a grey version of the Mega Buster as a chimp in an astronaut suit walks in and looks around. He then grabs the Mega Blaster and then puts it on. He then poses, pretending that he is firing shots. When he tries to reload it, a grappling hook gets shot out of it and then clings to something off screen. He tries to pull it out, but he isn't lucky and then it retracts, bringing up the chimp with it. The screen then cuts to space, with the hook actually clinging to the moon. The chimp bangs himself on the moon, making him fly off the screen and the moon moves into position as the logo fades in and the background fades out. The logo consists of a comet flying to a crescent moon in a light blue circle. It is in a dark yellow case with a light yellow border. Below, there's the following:

ATOMIC PLANET
entertainment inc.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Elevator jazz music with sound of the actions.

Availability: Was only seen on Mega Man: Anniversary Collection.

3rd Logo (October 1, 2004-September 25, 2009)

Visuals: On a foggy black background, a glowing outline of a circle on a curved shape rotates up. The outline fills in with a light yellow colour with dark greenish highlights and a outlined rectangle. Under it, there is "ATOMIC PLANET entertainment inc." in the same light yellow. When the logo faces forward, the rays die down.

Variants:

  • On The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, the logo has an aquatic filter over it. The logo is also distorted throughout most of the time.
  • A still version exists on GBA and DS games.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Just the sound of thunder.

Availability: This was seen on most of their games like Real Madrid: The Game.
