North American Warnings

1st Warning (March 5, 2002-April 14, 2020; 2021)

Visuals: On a black background, this text is shown:

The views expressed in the
interviews and commentary are
solely those of the individuals
providing them and do not reflect
the opinions of Twentieth Century
Fox Film Corporation, its parent,
affiliate or subsidiary companies.

Trivia: This text appears on the reverse side of some inserts included with Fox DVDs, such as Little Manhattan and That Thing You Do!: Tom Hanks' Extended Cut.

Variants:

  • Three different arrangements of the text have been used over the years.
  • On Say Anything (most likely the first DVD to feature this bumper), a unique variant exists where the bumper is rendered in the style of the DVD's menus.
  • The DVD of Antwone Fisher has an extra message above the warning:

Antwone Fisher's screenplay was
inspired by his life. Some of the
characters and events depicted in
this film are fictional.

  • Some Family Guy and American Dad! DVD sets have the second screen where text reads:

The commentary on this disc
contains adult language and
subject matter which may
not be suitable for
persons under 18.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on many DVDs and Blu-Rays from TCFHE until April 14, 2020 that have previews and/or special features. Made a surprise appearance on the 2021 reissue of Epic (itself a reprint of the original 2013 release). For later releases, it only appears on Blu-Rays such as Ad Astra, Spies in Disguise, and Underwater. The second screen was seen on volumes 1-7 Family Guy and volumes 1-4 American Dad!.

2nd Warning (May 12, 2020-)

Same as the Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment commentary track screen.
