Background

The Kennedy/Marshall Company was founded in 1991 by husband and wife producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, former founders of Amblin Entertainment. No logo was used until 1994, with the release of Milk Money.

1st Logo (August 31, 1994-January 27, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, the name "THE KENNEDY/MARSHALL COMPANY" is formed by the words coming in from various directions. Behind the name are the shining abstract letters "KM" in dark blue.

Variants:

  • Some films have the logo in a slightly greener tint.
  • On Roving Mars, the logo is small and still.
  • On Congo: Descent Into Zinj for the PC, we see just the name minus the abstract letters. Another game, Indian in the Cupboard, had it in red color with blue outline.

Technique: The shining picture.

Audio: The ending theme of the movie.

Availability: Seen at the end of films from the company from the era, such as Congo, The Bourne Identity, Milk Money, The Sixth Sense and The Bourne Supremacy.

2nd Logo (August 3, 2007-)

Visuals: Several filmstrips move across the screen vertically. One of them reveal these words lowercase, reading "the kennedy/marshall company". Another one continues to slide left to the words, until stopping mid-frame.

Variant: There is also a still version of the logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation by Artime Group.

Audio: The ending theme of the movie. When this logo originally appeared on the company's website, it used a faint guitar theme.

Availability: Seen on post-2007 films from the company, such as The Bourne Ultimatum, The Spiderwick Chronicles, and The Last Airbender. The still version was seen on Crossing Over, War Horse, and Lincoln. However, the print logo is still the 1994-2005 logo until 2016.
