Background

Shaw Media was the television subsidiary of Canadian media company Shaw Communications, created in 2010. It was formed after the bankruptcy of CanWest, when Shaw acquired its broadcasting assets. On April 1, 2016, Corus Entertainment acquired Shaw Media for $2.65 billion.

1st Logo (2010-2013)


Logo: Several colored glass arcs pass the screen and leave the word "SHAW", which immediately re-appears zoomed out and makes a blue arc with "MEDIA" behind it. There may be "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH" above.

Variant: A still version exists and one with copyright info reading: Shaw Media & Design is a trademark of Shaw Communications Inc. and used under license.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme from the show.

Availability: Common.

  • Seen on Shaw Media shows from 2010-13, including these previously produced by CanWest Global Networks, such as The Firm and Canadian Made.

2nd Logo (2012-March 31, 2016)


Logo: On a blue background, a white crescent zooms out and flashes, and "Shaw" comes out the side.

Variant: A still version exists.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: While no longer current, this logo is still common.

  • Seen on shows such as Vikings and 2012-16 episodes of Border Security.
