Background

Sega Technical Institute was an internal studio of Sega based in the United States. It was closed in 1997 after the Sonic X-Treme fiasco, and some of the staff went to Luxoflux.

1st Logo (1995)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a letters "STI" in sharp font with three triangles on these letters waving around it.

Technique: Waving animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only seen on the beta version of Comix Zone for Genesis.

2nd Logo (August 2, 1995-1997)


Visuals: Against a white background, there is a black box with a working lightbulb inside, emitting several electric zaps. Under the box is "SEGA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE" written in three lines with "SEGA" bigger than the rest of the letters. The whole logo is outlined with red border. The words, "A" and "Production" are shown above and below the logo respectively.

Variant: On The Ooze, the logo is made out of green ooze against the ground background. Plus, "A" and "Production" are not there.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the game.

Availability: Can be seen on The Ooze and Comix Zone for Genesis.
