Background

Saber Interactive Inc. is an American video game developer and publisher founded in 2001. Their headquarters is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The company was acquired by Embracer Group in February 2020, making the studio a direct subsidiary.

1st Logo (June 9, 2003)

Logo: On a black background, we see the company's logo, which consists of a blue square with two white L-shaped borders around it and an abstract roaring panther inside the square, the word "SABER" in an abstract font with the lines at the last four letters colored blue, fading in. The word "INTERACTIVE" (in spaced-out letters and set in a plain font) later fades in below. The logo then fades out at the end.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: A female choir.

Availability: Rare. It was only seen on Will Rock.

2nd Logo (October 30, 2007-April 5, 2022)

Logo: On a black background, we fade in to see a panther walking in to the center and facing towards the screen. It then comes closer to the screen and raising its claws, which transitions into the abstract panther logo from before, albeit being 3D, the blue color on the logo is paler and the panther is now restyled and colored white. The parts of "SABER" flies in letter-by-letter, and finally "INTERACTIVE" flashes in below.

Variants:

  • On some 2017-2019 games such as Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, the animated logo is zoomed in.
  • A still vertical variant exists on Inversion.
  • Another still variant exists, in which the logo is now in print form and either being shown in horizontal or vertical.
  • Yet another still variant exists, which the print logo is colored like the previous logo.
    • On NBA Playgrounds, the colored print logo is on a blue background with abstract circles. It later transitions into the Mad Dog Games logo.
    • On World of Speed, this logo is shown below the game's title logo, and is next to the Mad Dog Games, my.com and Redemption Ark logos.
    • On World of Warriors, the logo's colors are noticeably darker.
    • On NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, the logo transitions from the 2K Games logo, the logo's colors are again, noticeably darker. It then transitions to the Unreal Engine 4 logo. The entire thing takes place on a dark blue gradient background.
    • On Bass Pro Shops: The Strike - Championship Edition, the logo is on a cyan gradient background and has a drop shadow behind it.
  • All three still versions' logo size may vary, depending on the game.
  • On the PS4 reveal trailer to Spintires: MudRunner, the logo, which appears on a yellow grainy background with black lines painted on the top and bottom and a smoke being flown in the background, flashes two times at the beginning and slowly zooms in. In the end, it flashes again.

Technique: CGI animation. None for the still variants, with the exception of two NBA Playgrounds games, which uses simple animation.

Music/Sounds: The panther's roar, a rising tune when the panther comes closer to the screen, which is followed by a sound of a sword being drawn out, and several whooshes when the letters flies in.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, the animated version is silent.
  • For the still variant, none.
  • On Inversion, an ominous theme is heard.
  • On the PS4 reveal trailer to Spintires: MudRunner, a car engine sound is heard.

Availability: Common. It was first seen on TimeShift, and can be seen on their games until 2022.

3rd Logo (April 5, 2022-)

Logo: On a black background, we see the same abstract panther from before (albeit uncropped), fades in while slowly zooming in. It then moves to the left, then the word "SABER", now set in a custom Phonk Regular font, slides to the right, followed by the byline "AN EMBRACER GROUP COMPANY", also slides to the right.

Variants:

  • On Evil Dead: The Game, the logo wipes in on a dark red gradient background, then wipes out. The logo also appears bylineless.
  • On RedOut II, the bylineless still logo is stacked and is part of the opening intro to the game.
  • On Circus Electrique, the still logo is stacked with byline, and slowly zooms out.

Technique: Simple animation.

Music/Sounds: An ominous synth tune. Mostly none or the opening intro of the game.

Music/Sounds Variant: On Evil Dead: The Game, an ominous theme is heard, followed by a creepy voice saying in an unintellingable manner.

Availability: Current. It was first teased on Unreal Engine 5 showcase video, and later appeared on their website and social media accounts on May 10, 2022. It makes its debut appearance on Evil Dead: The Game, and later appeared on recent games since then.
