Background

This was another educational film division by Paramount Pictures aside from Paramount Oxford Films. This is not to be confused with Paramount Communications, the previous owners of Paramount Pictures.

1st Logo (1973)

Logo: On a black background, a white box outline containing Paramount's print logo of the time (with the byline "A Gulf+Western Company") zooms in.

Technique: Simple camera-controlled animation.

Audio: The sped-up, tinkly 8-note horn fanfare composed by Lalo Schifrin from the 1969 Paramount Television logo.

Availability: It was found on the training film The All-Star Spangled Mission, which was produced for the United States Savings Bond Division.

2nd Logo (Late 1970s?)

Logo: Just shows the print logo for Paramount with "Paramount Communications" in white and in cursive to the left. "Communications" is on the bottom of "Paramount". Above it all, it says "DISTRIBUTED BY", and the bottom says "A subsidiary of Paramount Pictures Corporation". The opening would show the same layout, but "DISTRIBUTED" is removed, and "PRESENTS" is in white on the bottom of everything else.

Technique: None.

Audio: None for the opening version, but the closing variant uses the ending theme of the educational program.

Availability: Seen on educational films of the era.
