Background

Paradigm Entertainment was founded as a 3D computer graphics company named "Paradigm Simulations" in 1990, and primarily worked on realistic flight simulation technology for major space and aviation clients. The company started the development of Pilotwings 64, one of the Nintendo 64's launch titles, in 1994. The game's success caused the simulation and entertainment divisions of Paradigm to separate and focus on their respective products. Paradigm Entertainment continued to develop for Nintendo 64, but was acquired by Infogrames in 2000. Then it was sold to THQ in 2006 and was ultimately closed on November 3, 2008.

1st Logo (November 21, 1997-July 2, 1999)

Logo: We see a giant swirly "P" in the middle in white or red, and the text "PARADIGM ENTERTAINMENT" on the bottom of it, with both words separated by a part of the giant "P".

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears on Aero Fighters Assault, F-1 World Grand Prix and F-1 World Grand Prix II, all for the Nintendo 64.

2nd Logo (June 9-October 27, 2000)

Logo: We see the giant swirly "P" from before, but this time it is blurred and glowing. "PARADIGM ENTERTAINMENT" is separated from the "P" and the words are on top of each other.

Variant: On Indy Racing 2000, the logo is beside the Infogrames logo on a copyright screen.

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears on Indy Racing 2000 and Duck Dodgers, both for the Nintendo 64.

3rd Logo (September 24, 2001)

Logo: On a black background, the swirly "P" rotates onto the screen with a metal look on it as it shines. Then the "PARADIGM ENTERTAINMENT" text appears letter-by-letter, as the "P" turns blue.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A loud synth sound.

Availability: Only appears on Spy Hunter.

4th Logo (October 26, 2001)

Logo: On a gray background, we see black shards heading into a bright light, then it shines to form the "P" and the "PARADIGM ENTERTAINMENT" text in black, with the light shining around it.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Sounds from the shards, then a synth sound when the light shines.

Availability: Appears on MX Rider.

5th Logo (September 13, 2002)

Logo: We are close up against a race light, as each light shines (from top to bottom: red, gold three times, green). As the green light shines, it zooms in, and then fades to a black background with the same Paradigm logo as before in the same green as the light and the text appearing letter-by-letter.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Sounds of crowd cheering, followed by vehicle revving and an airhorn when we zoom into a green light.

Availability: Appears on Big Air Freestyle.

6th Logo (September 11, 2002-February 21, 2008)

Logo: On a black background, orange smoke reveals the "P" from before with an orange outline. Then the "PARADIGM ENTERTAINMENT" text appears before forming backwards. Then the "P" ripples out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The sound coming from the orange smoke.

Availability: Appears on The Terminator: Dawn of Fate, Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, Terminator 3: The Redemption and Stuntman: Ignition.

7th Logo (May 4, 2006)
