Background

Mosiac Media Group is Allen Shapiro and Charles Roven's production company. It was formed on July 29, 1999, when Atlas Entertainment merged with Gold/Miller Management. In 2008, Roven left the company and relaunched Atlas Entertainment with a first-look deal at Sony Pictures. No logo was used until 2002.

1st Logo (February 8, 2002-June 20, 2008)

Visuals: On a blue-black background, four gray parts of a ring appear and join each other. Then the ring shines and "Mosaic" in a serif font wipes in, with "MEDIA GROUP" below in Helvetica Light Condensed and spaced-out. The logo shines.

Variants:

• A still version exists and is more common.
• The closing print version appears at the end of some films.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A beeping noise, along with clanks as the rings appear, and a huge whoosh as the logo is formed. For the closing, it's the music from any given soundtrack or none.

Availability:

• The animated logo only appeared on Rollerball (2002), Live!, and The Bank Job.
• The still variant is seen at the end of such films as Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Kicking and Screaming (2005), and Get Smart.
• The print logo appears on Bulletproof Monk, The Brothers Grimm, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and Step Brothers.
• Some films, such as War, What Happens in Vegas, and Semi-Pro, have no logo.

2nd Logo (June 5, 2009-June 27, 2017)

Visuals: On a black background, a red circle with a 7-ray star inside appears. After this, other letters fade in to make the word "mosaic", with the circle serving as the letter "O". The letters then fade out with the circle following them in a second.

Variants:

• At the end of Land of the Lost, it is still and the letters are white.
• On Downward Dog, the logo appears on a dark gray smoky background with the logo in silver and below the Animal Media Group logo.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Land of the Lost, The Other Guys, and Downward Dog.

3rd Logo (June 17, 2011-August 13, 2017)

Visuals: There is a volcano that appears to be made out of mud and rocks. The volcano erupts red lava and the "mosaic" text from the previous logo (albeit italicized) quickly zooms in to the center. The image zooms out and becomes boxed in as the "o" in "mosaic" shines.

Variants:

• On TV shows, the logo is still.
  • On Bad Teacher (TV series), the logo is above the Quantity Entertainment logo.
• On The Lazarus Effect, the volcano is against a dark sky during a thunderstorm. The name fades in and pulsates before the volcano erupts.

Technique: Live-action for the volcano and 2D animation for the text.

Audio: Rumbling sounds followed by a bombastic fanfare with drums and high-pitched brass (possibly a library piece).

Availability: Seen on Bad Teacher (along with its TV series adaptation), Rapture-Palooza, The Lazarus Effect, and Apollo Gauntlet.

4th Logo (December 25, 2018-)

Visuals: The screen slowly zooms out on a painting of a blue sky, with the clouds moving a bit. A bolt of lighting flashes near a black cloud at the bottom of the screen, followed by the screen flashing the name "Mosaic". The sky background fades to black with the name remaining in place.

Variants:

• A still version exists.
• On Weird City, the logo is next to the Chuckystuff Pictures logo.
• Sometimes, the name isn't italicized.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A gust of wind, followed by a loud thunderclap and an off-screen male saying "Woah!". On the still version, the closing theme of the show.

Availability: First seen on Holmes and Watson and later on Weird City, Guilty Party, and Night Sky.
