Background

MTV Original Series was a division of MTV used for series that were made specifically for MTV itself.

1st Logo (2001-2003)

Logo: On a yellow studio-like background, we see the MTV logo (with "MUSIC TELEVISION" beneath it) bounce in right next to a microphone that is swinging and has a electric charge. Next to the microphone, the text "Original Series" slides in. Beneath is a MTV Networks copyright notice that fades in.

FX/SFX: The MTV logo bounce, the swinging microphone, the microphones lightning, and the "Original Series" text and copyright notice.

Music/Sounds: The show's end theme.

Availability: Extinct. Seen on Sausage Factory and Clone High.

2nd Logo (2015-2021)

Logo: On a black background, we see a yellow rectangle stretch downwards to a smaller rectangle. when it fully stretches down, the MTV logo appears on the bottom of it before finally stretches down to fit the size of the MTV logo. While all this happens, the "original series" text from the last logo (albeit lowercase) fades in.

FX/SFX: The rectangle stretch, and the original series text fading in.

Music/Sounds: Sometimes no audio, but other times a soundbite from the episode (ala Nickelodeon Productions).

Availability: Common, boarding on uncommon. Its seen on older episodes of Wild 'n Out, The Challenge, Catfish, Floribama Shore, Teen Mom, Are You the One?, Ridiculousness, etc.

Editor's Note: This logo is a pretty memorable logo for those who watched the shows.

Final Note: Starting in 2021, newer shows and new episodes of the shows listed above are replaced with the current MTV Entertainment Studios logo.
