(1970-1971)

Nickname: "Leo the Lion"

Logo: On a light blue background is a rectangle with a blue border. On the left is a small yellow rectangle. On top is a circle with the 1957 MGM lion with "MGM" below in blue. Aside the lion is:

CHiLDREN'S
MATiNEES

in yellow and in the Peignot font. The lion roars once.

FX/SFX: Just the lion roaring.

Music/Sounds: The first roar from the 1960 roar track.

Availability: Extremely rare, if not extinct. Seen on re-issue trailers of MGM movies from the timeframe such as the 1970 re-issue trailer of The Wizard of Oz.

Editor’s Note: An interesting logo from a forgotten division of MGM.
