Background

J&J Film Co., Ltd. was a film company founded in 1990 by martial artist and film star Chen Kuan-tai after his success at Shaw Brothers, taking up the roles of director, actor and producer. A few movies were made throughout that year before Chan leaving the movie industry for about a decade. Another company, Rainboworld Enterprises Inc. was a film and video distribution agent based in Taiwan.

1st Logo (May 29, 1990)

Visuals: On a black background, the J&J logo (a big and a small J's with a even smaller "&" at the middle) in yellow, zooms in and slides to left. Then, the name "RAINBOWORLD ENTERPRISE INC." in blue wiping in from right, along with the Chinese name (used by both companies) in red, wiping in. Some seconds before the music ends, the logo cuts to black.

Trivia: Part of the English text disappears when it's wiping in, and the whooshes are off-sync.

Technique: Rostrum camera.

Audio: Two long whooshes and a rock sports-like theme.

Availability: Only seen on Return to Action.

2nd Logo (November 10, 1990)

Visuals: On a starry night background, there is a purple-blue floor with a long carpet-like filmstrip all the way to a silhouette of a cityscape with 3 searchlights and a Hollywood-like sign saying "RAINBOWORLD ENTERPRISES INC." on the mountains. Then, it pans toward the sky as well the J&J logo aside (exept the "&", which is already spinning) in 3D zooms and turns forward when it stops zooming and slightly pans upward. The characters of the Chinese name (also in 3D) fly under the logo one-by-one.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dramatic thriller synth theme.

Availability: Also seen in only one movie, Forsaken Cop.

3rd Logo (December 7, 1990)

Visuals: On a starfield background, the outlined "J"s zoom out from (respectively) left and right by trails and slightly zoom in. Then, the outlined "&" zooms in to the middle of the "J"s, forming the full J&J logo. Then the logo flashes, turning into gold. The Chinese text in gold and in a 3D perspective fades in and zooms out. At the very bottom, the names "RAINBOWORLD ENTERPRISES INC." and "J & J FILM COMPANY LIMITED", both in solid yellow, fade in other down-to-up.

Technique: Presumably cel animation, CGI and rostrum camera.

Audio: A mystical synth chimes tune. Then a calm and majestic synth horn fanfare.

Availability: Once again, only appeared in one movie: Blood Stained Tradewinds.
