Background

Interscope/Shady/Aftermath Films was a Universal Music Group joint venture unit of Interscope Records with Oscar-winning rapper Eminem's Shady Records and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment.

In 2006, following the release of its sole film, Get Rich or Die Tryin', the venture was dismantled. In 2014, Eminem went on to form Shady Films with his manager, Paul Rosenberg, as a new film and television production subsidiary of Shady Records. Meanwhile, Interscope Records (in 2018) created its own film production label, Interscope Films; Interscope had previously been named in the film industry with the separately folded Interscope Communications (now Focus Features).
