Background

Glu Mobile LLC is an American developer and publisher of video games for mobile phones and tablet computers. Founded in San Francisco, California, in 2004, Glu offers products to multiple platforms including Java ME-based devices, Android, Windows Phone, Google Chrome, and Amazon. The company has worked in distributing mobile games for various licenses including Call of Duty, Deer Hunter, Family Guy, The Flintstones, and Transformers. The company was acquired by Electronic Arts in April 2021.

1st Logo (2005-2012)

Visuals: On a black background, an orange "g" with two yellow eye dots inside is shown bouncing into the left of the screen. The "g" stops bouncing and the remaining letters "lu" appear with the trademark.

Variants: There exists a still version. On several games, the loading bar is shown underneath the logo.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A 7-note chime with a shaker-style percussive sound. Usually none for the still variant.

Availability: It appears on most licensed J2ME games distributed across mobile devices of the era, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Sonic Jump, Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa, Family Guy Uncensored, and Superman & Batman: Heroes United.

2nd Logo (2009-2013)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the same Glu logo, but redesigned to have a gradient color and a slight border. The "g" suddenly bulges into the screen, and a character model based off it pops out into view, with the part of its eyes filled in white, as the camera turns into it. The character gets close to the camera and does several eye expressions at it, before running away quickly as the camera turns into black.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A rubber sound when the G bulges, followed by an electronic beat with the melody based off the previous logo's theme.

Availability: It appears on Android and iOS games published by the company during the era, such as Deer Hunter Reloaded and Contract Killer.
