Background

Glu Mobile LLC is an American developer and publisher of video games for mobile phones and tablet computers. Founded in San Francisco, California, in 2004, Glu offers products to multiple platforms including Java ME-based devices, Android, Windows Phone, Google Chrome, and Amazon. The company has worked in distributing mobile games for various licensed including Call of Duty, Deer Hunter, Family Guy, The Flintstones, and Transformers. The company was acquired by Electronic Arts in April 2021.

1st Logo (2005-2012)

Visuals: On a black background, an orange "g" with two dots inside is shown bouncing into the left of the screen. The "g" stops bouncing and the remaining letters "lu" appear with the trademark.

Variants: The logo is most often shown still. On several other games, the loading bar is shown underneath the logo.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A 7-note chime with a shaker-style percussive sound. Usually none for the still variant.

Availability: It appears on most licensed J2ME games distributed across mobile devices of the era, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Sonic Jump, and Superman & Batman: Heroes United.
