Background

Glass Eye Pix is an American Independent Film Production Company based off of New York City centered around horror. The company was founded in 1985 (though the company's first film was made in 1980) by Larry Fessenden so he can copyright his own films.

1st Logo (2002)

Logoː We see an eye zoom in to us for less than half a second. This shows a blue movie countdown & text that says "Glass Eye Pix" in the typer font. The text wipes away until it nothing but scribbled white, which goes to the right.

Variantː On some prints of the movie, the font for the text is different and the logo is darker.

FX/SFXː The movie Countdown, and the text, all of which are done in 2D Animation.

Music/Soundsː A series of noises from the movie projector.

Availabilityː Rare, as it's only used on Searching for the Wendigo.

Editor's Noteː This is one of the logos from Glass Eye Pix that uses a movie countdown.

2nd Logo (2006-2007)

Logoː We see again a movie countdown. This time, it's black & green. The white text "GLASS EYE PIX" is already shown & black keeps showing on the movie countdown every second (as for the distorted projector back then). When it almost gets to 2 on the countdown, everything turns black & scratchy to the point to where the text is already gone. By the end of the logo, an eye shows up for a second with multiple frames of the eye.

FX/SFXː The heavily distorted movie countdown & the eye, done in CGI.

Music/Soundsː The movie countdown noises that are low-toned, & hard-to-tell noises at the end.

Availabilityː It was only used on Trigger Man (including the 2007 print).

Editor's Noteː The distorted movie countdown & rough sounds can creep many out and darkness may also contribute, though this is intentional.

3rd Logo (2008-2012)

Logoː Just a distorted countdown screen with the white text "Glass Eye Pix" all in B&W.

FX/SFXː The Countdown Screen made in CGI.

Music/Soundsː None.

Availabilityː Uncommon. This was seen on the majority of their films during this period, including The Comedy and Wendy and Lucy.

Editor's Noteː None.

4th Logo (2010)

Logo: Transitioning from the 2nd Scare Flix logo, we see a countdown effect with a bunch of disturbing and gore images in the background. After a while, we see the text "GLASS EYE PIX" fade in. The logo then suddenly ends.

FX/SFX: CGI.

Music/Soundsː A series of strange gore sounds.

Availability: This was only used on Bitter Feast and Stake Land.

Editor's Note: The disturbing imagery & the noises can scare some, but this is, again, intentional.

5th Logo (2013)

Logoː We see yet another movie countdown colorized in 2 colors, which are black and blue. The text "GLASS EYE PIX" appears in white as the countdown continues. The text quickly disappears & the logo ends suddenly.

FX/SFXː The movie countdown, and the text, all of which are done in 2D Animation.

Music/Soundsː A series of strange rubbing noises and other random sounds.

Avaiabilityː This was only used on Beneath.

Editor's Noteː The sounds are very unsettling and the animation doesn't help, though this is an intentional company.

6th Logo (2015-2018)

Logoː It starts off with a black background. Then crystal-like shapes reveal a circle glowing in pink with a drawing of a full moon, as well as the text "GLASS EYE PIX" in a neon font in light blue. The logo zooms out as the neon circle dims, leaving only the outline. Eventually, the neon dims, as well as the text.

FX/SFXː CGI.

Music/Soundsː Glass shattering at the beginning, and neon light sounds after.

Availabilityː It was only seen on the sizzle reel here.

Editor's Noteː None.
