I recently discovered a history of TV idents from NHK (Japanese TV idents are usually called startups and closedowns because they are longer) at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHS0t7mhy9Y. Should the startup and closedown from 1970 be considered to be used until 1995 or 2001 (startup)/2006 (closedown)? I think the 1984 change which added black outlines to text and widened the spacing between the NHK letters should most likely be considered to be a later variant than a separate logo, but what about the 1995 change (which added the eggs logo used until 2020)? |
