Background

DMG Entertainment is a global entertainment and media company that was founded in 1994 by Dan Mintz in Beverly Hills, California.

1st Logo (January 26, 1999-April 1, 2001)

Logo: On a black background, the camera pans out from the gold letters "DMG". The letters "D" and "G" then clip behind the "M", forming a negative space. "ENTERTAINMENT" in Century Gothic then fades in below. The logo shines.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A calm horn fanfare ending with a proud flourish. Synthesized twinkling is heard as the logo shines.

Availability: Seen on Follow Your Heart, Knockout and Vegas, City of Dreams.

2nd Logo (May 11, 2012- )

Logo: On a black background, a searchlight flashes to the camera, then more searchlights appear. The background then turns into a brown-black gradient, and some gold blocks come into view, revealing to be the gold letters "DMG" in a stylized font with the smaller "ENTERTAINMENT" below. The word "ENTERTAINMENT" is also seen as a reflection at the bottom.

Variants:

  • On Canadian and British prints of Playmobil: The Movie and on Looper, the logo is sped-up.
  • At the end of the movies, the logo is still.
  • On Chinese movies, such as No Man's Land and Chinese prints of their films, two Chinese letters are added on the right part after "ENTERTAINMENT".

Technique: Excellent CGI.

Music/Sounds: A dramatic orchestral fanfare, or the opening theme of the movie. On Playmobil: The Movie, the logo is silent.

Availability: First seen on Shadows of Love and it was seen at the end of Iron Man 3. Also seen on Looper and Playmobil: The Movie.
