Background

The Columbia TriStar Family Collection was a product line launched by Columbia TriStar Home Video in 1995 to release children’s/family movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment on VHS. The line’s first title was The Indian In The Cupboard which was released in December 1995. The tapes were packaged in gold clamshell cases, but were changed to traditional white clamshells in 1997. The Family Collection was discontinued in 1999.

1st Logo (December 1995-May 1996)

Visuals:

  • Opening: On a black background, there is a gold rectangular/squared shaped box. In the top center, there are the words "COLUMBIA TRISTAR" in the Apple Garamond font and in the bottom center, there are the words "Family Collection" in the Shelly Script font. On the left box is the Columbia torch lady and on the right is the TriStar Pegasus.
  • Closing: Same as the opening, but with the logo fully zoomed in.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: Chuck Riley saying "Columbia TriStar Home Video presents, the movies of the Family Collection!" with the fanfare “Legends” by Spirit Of America Ensemble playing.
