Background

AMC Studios is the in-house production unit of the AMC Television Network, a unit of AMC Networks Inc.

1st Logo (1993-1999)

Visuals: On a lush moving gradient green background, the letters "AMC" moves from the right to the middle as a diamond seen behind the letters scrolls back. As the "AMC" letters position themselves, a silver circle outline grows behind the diamond. The "AMC" and the diamond rest inside the circle, forming the AMC logo used from 1993-2002. As the company name and diamond form the logo inside the circle, the words "ORIGINAL" and "PRODUCTION" appear inside the outline of the circle.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A lush orchestrated theme.

Availability: Appeared on Behind the Screen and may have appeared on other shows AMC produced.

2nd Logo (October 31, 2010-March 31, 2013)

Visuals: A green rectangle is seen that has "aMC" on the left in a smaller rectangle and "STUDIOS" is on the right side.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme to the show or silence.

Availability: Appeared on the first three seasons of both The Walking Dead and Talking Dead. It may be preserved in syndication, Netflix streaming and the Anchor Bay Entertainment DVD and Blu-ray releases of the show. It also appears on the game The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.

3rd Logo (October 13, 2013-October 23, 2016)

Visuals: There is what appears to be several gold bars. A small part of one slides down and it says "aMC" in the style of the previous logo. "STUDIOS" is to the right in white.

Technique: CGI by Troika Design Group.

Audio: The closing theme of the show or silence.

Availability: Appeared on The Walking Dead from seasons 4 to 6, Hell on Wheels and the first lot of episodes of Fear the Walking Dead. Other shows on AMC also contain this logo.

4th Logo (May 22, 2016-July 13, 2020)

Visuals: A gold background is seen with a corner of a black rectangle on the left and a "ST" on the right. It zooms in a bit, then bounces back, revealing a black rectangle with the "aMC" from the previous two logos in a bright grayish-gold color, with "STUDIOS" to the right of it. The rectangle has a golden outline which shimmers.

Technique: CGI by Troika.

Audio: None or the closing theme.

Availability: First seen on Preacher, and also seen on season 6 of Talking Dead, season 7 of The Walking Dead, later episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, Feed the Beast, and more AMC shows.

5th Logo (October 4, 2020-)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a thin rectangle zooms out, and moves, rotates to the left to reveal the "a" and "C" moves to the left and right between the "M" to form "aMC" from the 2nd logo and the rectangle stops rotating, with the word "STUDIOS" appear and moves to the right very slowly.

Technique: 2D digital animation by Trollbäck+Company.

Audio: None.

Availability: This logo made its first appearance on the new episode of Talking Dead and it started to appear on new seasons of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead. It also appeared on new shows that they produced from 2020 onwards such as Tales of The Walking Dead, Soulmates and Kevin Can F**k Himself, among others.
